The weather was absolutely perfect this morning as Julie sent the field of Pros and Co Anglers out onto Oahe Reservoir in Mobridge this morning. Temps are to hit the 104 range today, with winds ESE 5 to 10 MPH early and 10 to 20 later in the day. Keep in mind the air temps are forecast in the shade, so the anglers will be on the water under direct cloudless sunshine in temps much higher. There were a couple reports of heat distress yesterday and Day One, so all the boats are carrying plenty of water today.

Mr. Ziegler was confident he could get his 5 fish, and seemd very ready to get out on the water when we spoke at 6:15 this morning. Mark Courts said he's going for his 5 first, and then will shoot for a big fish to try to lock up a win. Pat Neu was "just going to go fishing, catch some fish, and see what the day brings".

With the bite we've seen so far one might think that a 3 pound lead is pretty stable, but the big fish possibility IS there. Mark Courts had a 30 in practice and the 29 yesterday, so if all other things remain as they have a 9.75# 4 fish bag coupled with one big fish COULD move Mr. Skarlis, Mr. Fairbairn, Mr. Christensen, or Mr. Riley to a win. Holding an 11# average through the second day actually did give them a shot if the kicker fish is one of the pigs caught in practice and in yesterday's baskets. Looking at possibilities, all the way down to 25th place might have a shot at a top two. This one is actually really close.

Watch for the WalleyeFIRST Live Leaderboard to fire up around 3 PM this afternoon!

Hey Steve,

Was that Panasonic Tough book in Doc Sampson's boat?

It also looked like one of the boats was getting a repair job done on their electonics. what's up with that? It looked like Mike Johnson's boat.

I'm hoping that Eric Schuelke has a great day and vaults into the top 10 or 20. I talked with Eric yesterday and he lost a real hog at the boat yesterday that would have put him in the running. Go ERIC!

Yes, it's a Toughbook, great computer and Doc REALLY uses it coupled with his electronics, wireless, too. I have an older one and really like it. The repair was a radio that went down in Mike's boat. Charlie Moore had a new Raymarine for him in minutes, getting him back on the water almost before the engine noise from the rest of the field was gone.

Thanks Steve !

Great Picts and great follow-up. It's almost like being there. I have a hunch that you may want to be around when Eric weighs. He could make some real movement today.

I'll be there, heading over in about an hour and a half, which should get me there before everyone decides to get off the water.

Thanks sir, we try to get the feel of the event in images and words best as we can. Any special shots I might take that you/anyone would like to see?

See if you can get a shot of Pat Neu sneaking over to the A&W this afternoon! If they don't have an A&W, check the Dairy Queen.

What did Zirzow catch today!? Was that just one fish over 20 inches or did he get two?

Was going to mention too, that was his Tough book MDWD wireless monitor. He keeps the the CF-29 under the dash.

Zirzow got a good basket, with one over 9#. Here's a picture of that fish.
