Anybody have a chance to actually see and experience the new "Roplene", plastic (polyethylene) hull from Triumph. Theres an article about the boats in Bass & Walleye boats. Interesting, but apparently pretty heavy sled, at 18 1/2 feet it is rated for a 175 and will do 445mph with a 150. It has some nice features and should be a very interesting alternative if it proves to be durable and ages well...

Me thinks that 445mph is just too fast for ant boat

In answer to the question, I have seen quite a few of these out there, and they seem to hold up well.

Fiberglass is nothing but plastic, too. In fact, it's known as FRP in the business: Fiber Reinforced Plastic.

I went to the factory 2 years ago to talk with them and see the process. The boats would with stand the swing of a sludge hammer. They are durable. no doubt. They looked good from 20 yards away as well. but when you got in closer, well, they looked like plastic. price wasn't all that great at that time either. I helped them with some fresh water ideas for the boats, dont know if they ever made the changes, after I left I never heard another word from them again.
