Member Posts: 238 | I was just writing to see if anyone knew anything about the Aqua-Vu VPG and if it was anything like the Lowrance and how it compared. I mean for the money if it worked well it would be worth not spending the 450 for a lowance or even the top end flashers if thats what you like! Any input would be great!

Location: Rhinelander | I have heard a few reviews so far, all positive. Here's the specs and script of the website: Introducing a profound advancement in ice electronics that's both simple to use and affordable. The Aqua-Vu VPG (Vertical Pixel Graph) offers a top-to-bottom high-speed liquid crystal display that matches the water column. No longer is it necessary to strain your brain or your eyes while attempting to read those confusing circular flashers. The water column isn't laid out in a circle-and neither is the VPG. It's the first ever high-speed LCD sonar that responds instantly to lure actions and fish movements. Another first-the VPG's "Ice Mode" employs an internal heater that keeps the liquid crystals moving and responding at high speeds— even in extreme cold. Standard Features Include: * 7.2-amp 12-volt battery and battery charger with "quick-charge" access * Neoprene softcase with Velcro enclosure * 200 kHz transducer frequency for maximum true resolution * 18-degree transducer angle (equals 3-square feet of bottom coverage in 10 feet of water * Retractable transducer arm extends over ice hole or fits smoothly into softcase * 1000-watts true RMS power * Target separation of less than 1/2-inch * Adjustable zoom can be targeted to view any segment of the water column * Adjustable sensitivity * 10-level adjustable noise rejection * Auto range * Backlit night-glow display * Digital range control – 20’, 40’, 60’, 80’, 240’ * "Ice Mode" heats LCD for continuous high-speed operation on the ice * Super low current draw for extended operation ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The heater in the LCD sounds like a good idea.
