This weekend looking like should be a busy one up here on the Bay as seeing better Ice Conditions everyday here. Still a variable of ice thickness from 4 to 6 inches but do remember still open waters in the center of the Bay yet.
Current areas should also be watched around the river mouths of the Days, Whitefish/Rapid.
Catches of walleye have been spotty, hearing from several anglers this morning while stopping at the shop (SHORELINE SPORTS CENTER-906-233-0397)
saying they caught a bunch of undersize walleye last night and 3 keeper fish to 19 inches while fishing the upper Bay flats in 15 feet of water.
Best bites coming on jigging Rap's (W5CLN and W5GRT) both tipped and non-tipped.
Also iced a few nice sized perch as well.

Anglers are now using the Kipling Launch areas, Days River DNR access both north and south sides of the river, Vagabond Resort exist (hear you have to pay at the resort but giving you great access to the Bay)
Hunters Point fisherman are venturing out.......Escanaba Harbor is reporting some fair catches of perch and northern pike action using larger minnows (3-5 inch golden shiners, suckers) with tip-up sets.

Stop in and say Hi guys, we are "geared" up and ready for a great ICE SEASON~
