Location: Iowa		I just purchased a new Icom fixed mount VHF radio to put in the boat (Alumacraft). Looking for some suggestions on what antenna I should go with. Not real interested in the 8' antennas, more like the 3'-5' range. Will be using on lakes in MN, IA, WI. So I would like your advice on what to get.

4 ft Little Giant works like a 8 footer, there are some digital ones also don't know how these are??

Location: Jackson, Wisconsin 53037		shakespeare 5401-XT. It's a black antenna, 4ft, it's the best reception I have gotten out of all the antenna's I have tried

Location: Iowa		I was looking at the shakespeare models, just wasn't sure which one to get. I see they have a whip model, but cheaper price. I want to get a quality one that works great the first time.
