Was gonna run out there next weekend with the now 6YO and the sled. Access should be ok. Any ugly spots on the east side I need to worry about?

A huge crack opened up this weekend out from Brotherton. From the reports I got, it's 6'-10' wide in spots. I don't know how far it runs north-south. With this weather it probably won't heal very well. If you can avoid that area, there's still plenty of really solid ice.

The crack off brothertown is quite wide and they have a double bridge across it. You can still get across easily as of tonight but there was a fair sized pool of water forming near the bridge. I would assume the crack is bad all the way down the east shore access spots.

Other than that, pretty smooth sailing. I had 2 feet of ice in a couple spots today. Just be careful around any major cracks right now. Before this warm weather they were healed and you could get away with crossing them. They are working big time now with the warm weather so if there isn't a bridge use your head.

There is a huge heave running down the east shore south of Pipe right along the shoreline. Was only about a foot tall last week, but it's over 8 feet now. Can even get out on the ice from my place. So there's gotta be a crack working some place.

Think the guys who didn't bring in their shacks yet will wish they did.

If you want limits of eyes, head 1.5-2 miles out of Quinney. Hammered spoons with a minnow head.

A 52-year-old man’s vehicle broke through the ice Saturday morning on Lake Winnebago...

Michael Piller’s 1995 Ford Explorer broke through a crack in the ice shortly after 6 a.m., said Sgt. Bill Anthes of the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department. Piller, who made it out of the vehicle before it sunk in 20 feet of water, was able to escape and get a ride back to shore unharmed. His vehicle, however, is a loss. Piller must make arrangements for the SUV to be removed from the lake, Anthes said.

As I understand it, this happened out from the Ceape St access. Be careful if heading out. The snow is very heavy and I'm sure is weakening the cracks at the same time it's covering them up.
