Trolled Poygan for 10 hours on Friday, both Shallow (3-4 feet) and deep (6-8 feet). I ran just about every thing that has worked for me in the past with very little action. I caught 1- 12inch Walleye, 1 small Northern, 1 small Whitebass, 1 small Sheephead and 1 small Perch... and that was it. No other hits!

My business partner was out with another friend and he did manage to catch 2 nice Walleyes (16-18) running #1 or 2 Colorado blades (small) very slow along bottom.

I tried every place on the lake from East to West. Water temps ranged from 55-59 degrees.

I talked to quite a few guys and no one had caught a fish on a crank bait.

Hope this helps anyone venturing out on Poygan in the next few days... I'd concentrate on small blade crawer harnesses very slow...

I'm getting similar reports from the guys I know that are practicing for the PWT. It sounds like it will be a very interesting tourney given the tough bite.

Jerry they must be doing something wrong then...lol Go to Bago...
There are fish all over the reefs, some are milking like crazy. There is even a trolling bite in shallow water. Some decent females are there for the picking, if you find the right rock-piles. Thought I would share that info with you, incase you are in the tourney, I have to work

Don't let the 'bago shallow trolling bite word get out yet... Oops.

Hafe - are you going to be at the PWT weigh-in this week? I need to get your prop back to you - long overdue.

And pleeeese. Don't let the jig bite get out into the non-tournament guys hands. They might catch and keep all thoses Walleyes before the 56 tournaments start on the bago system. or is it 94, I can't keep track.

On a serious note, jigging has produced some very nice fish from Winneconnie to Oshkosh.
