Member Posts: 30 | Does this boat self-center on the trailer as easily as I've heard the Rangers do? I've heard you almost have to try to get a Ranger to load off-center. Is the same true of the 1890 and it's trailer? I don't have much experience with a drive on trailer. My current trailer has rollers but not drive on type rollers so I hand load. My next boat will be a drive on with bunks. Thanks in advance. Bob

Very easy loading. Stevie Wonder could even do it. It centers its self perfectly every time. Good luck Jeff

Member Posts: 27 | I let a 13 year old load my 1890 on a sharp bend on the Wisconsin River last weekend...He'd never driven a boat until that day...it's amazing.

Member Posts: 3899 | Mine loads perfect every time. The only issue I have had is my winch stand bolt loosened, the winch fell, and I ended up wirth the boat way on the trailer! Back in the water, and my Ford F150 Lug wrench fit, and it was tightened up. The boat pulls great, straight and the brakes are smooth.

Back in the water, and my Ford F150 Lug wrench fit, and it was tightened up. The boat pulls great, straight and the brakes are smooth. interesting. same exact thing happened to me when i was cranking the boat up last weekend. bolt loosened, winch post slid down to the lowest position. had to re-launch the boat, reset the post height, tighten the bolt... it makes me a bit nervous for a long trip with sustained bouncing/pressure. there oughta be a way to put a pin through that post to hold it in position instead of having just a pressure/tension bolt. as far as loading on the trailer, it centers itself well, just be sure to leave enough of the trailer out of the water so that your boat can't slide to the side and rub against those side guides. they'll beat the Tuffy logo sticker up. because the trailers guide on so easy, last year i was in the habit of always running up to the trailer quick and power loading, but that meant occasionally rubbing the guides into the boat finish and the sticker. so unless there's strong wind/current that makes it impossible i just nudge onto the trailer until the boat is good and centered, drive it up most of the way, and then hand crank it. i gotta win that "Sharp Angler" award this fall, you know! ![]() Edited by lambeau 6/2/2007 10:46 PM
