Member Posts: 1656 | Rob, there are plenty of whitebass in the river already, but the bite is just a bit off yet. Another week or two and they should be smacking. Look for slack water and inside bends right now.

Member Posts: 120 Location: Appleton, WI | Thanx Jayman. I hope we can find some active fish. Taking my dad out (although only once a year) is very special to me, because he took me out alot when I was young.

last weekend whites were all deeper, tried shallow all day and caught two, fished 14 ft. and caught em one right after the other shiners and floaters. May change by this weekend though.

I got about 30 with a buddy with a few small walleyes mixed on Sunday. The fish were definitely not biting fast and furious, but enough action to keep ya busy and at the end of the day it was nice only filleting fish for one hour compared to all night. I was fishing off a dock in Weyeauwega (private). FLY

Member Posts: 6 Location: Darien Il. | Thanks FLYMAN,, if you happen to down to the wolf,, see you around 1ish on Saturday. watch for an old blue/grey Tuffy. Stop say hello. How deep is that part of the river towards Weyeauwega? Lots of bends there.

Where I fish off the dock straight down it is about 9 feet and when I cast into the channel about 15.' I will be on the dock most likely sunday hopefully filling a cooler

Member Posts: 6 Location: Darien Il. | Well, we came, we seen a LOT of boats this year, we left our "deposit" at the "finest establishments" in Fremont and we went home with what could be the prerequisite minimum catch, 100 keepers for 6 guys in 2.5 days., MANY small ones 8 inchers. (1 year olds?) . Oh well ,, the up and down weather had to have some bearing on the light catch. I and another in our group both did get our first REAL Wolf River thrill though, hooking a sturgeon near the last dock south of Reds in the no wake zone. Watching that "log" roll over and go back deep into the river after he was hooked was a thrill alright and worth the trip. Just wished I didn't loose him so I get a picture. Maybe NEXT year! See Ya's then!
