Things started slow because of the dirty water churned up yesterday by that NW wind. Finaly found the main school east of 9 and 10 bouy in 19 to 22 FOW. Spoon harnesses 30/30 with 1/2 ounce drop weight on one side and 20/20 1 1/2 ounce on the other side. And Gulp outfished the real deal 3 to 1. Total for all boats was 87 walleyes and me and my buddy Larry from Sea Gypsy charters cleaned the majority of them. Attachments ---------------- ![]()

I'd like to "have to" clean 87 walleyes... Then I'd "have to" eat my share... Sounds like you guys did right by your clients... I bet they all had a ball...

Member Posts: 3899 | My first trip to Lake Eirie in 1986, we fished on the Erie Dearie II, and brand new boat back then. Had the wife, Bro and his wife, and Sis, and her jerk, er, ah, hubbby. It was her Graduation present from Bro and me. All except for Bro and me, got sick shortly after the ride out to the spot. So Bro and me caught so many fish, the Capt. lost count. We had about 70 in the box, released at least that many. One of his other charters wasn't doing so well. He gave them a couple dozen. I cleaned 56 fish that evening, while Bro watched, and the rest were getting their land legs back! I used two filet knives, and bro would sharpen one, while I used the other. He was pretty good at putting a razor edge on knives, so that helped alot. The Capt said the school of fish we were on was 1/2 mile wide, and over 3 miles long. That is the single best day of catching I've ever experienced. A couple weeks ago on Green Bay nearly came close. Over 6 dozen crawlers in 4 hours. Must have caught 60+ eyes, from 20-24". All released except fo 3 that were deeply hooked. That was fun, huh Zach?

I use Stinger Scorpion Spoons. I make and sell just the ones I make in my spare time over the winter. Heres a picture and feel free to copy and make up your own if you'd like. ![]() ![]() Edited by walleye express 6/7/2007 5:44 PM Attachments ---------------- ![]()
