I just picked up my 619 vs ranger w/ a opti pro xs 225. Im getting the run around as to what my RPM/speed should be. I've switched from a 21pitch 4 blade to a 19pitch 3 blade and im running 5450rpm/ 50mph. The dealer says that is ok but i heard i should be at around 5800 rpm for longer motor life, is this true? Can i correct this with prop change? I fish in nebraska, is anyone seeing better output? thanks

Member Posts: 3899 | something doesn't sound right. That should be a near 60 MPH boat with that motor. Where is the motor mounted? A 21 rev 4 on that boat should push it near 60 at a higher RPM, I would think. That motor pushes a 620 at 58-60, so I would think the new 619 would be as fast with a good holeshot to boot. Member Posts: 142 | I'm with Shep. Your rpms should be higher with a 19. They should have been higher with the 21 than what you are getting with a 19....? Something isn't right.

You will have higher rpm's with the 19 pitch then the 21 pitch! When you go down on pitch your rpms come up. I have a 225 and the rev limiter kicks out at 5800 rpm so I have it dialed in to run at 5700 for maxium performance. It will say on the motor on the tag on the side of it where the serial number is. If it is 5800 then you want to get as close to that as you can. From a stationary position you should be able to punch it down with out kicking the rev limiter out.

I have the same boat and motor. It is only 2 weeks old and I am still trying to find the right trim level. So far with the 4 blade prop I have hit 61 mph with full tank and 1 passenger. I will get back to you on rpm level as I am not sure. I think I was around 5500. Hole shot is great. I can't believe your rig will not do the same. Jim

I have a new 07 619VS w/225 pro XS as well. I am running the Rev 4-21, motor mounted at center hole. You should be hitting 5700-5750 RPMs. I am getting 58-59 mph on full tank gps speed and 70 degree weather. Speedo will read 61-62. First 10 hrs you may only get about 5500 rpm as you are running very rich in oil. Make sure your trim settings are ok, with the long shaft and factory mount I had mine adjusted a little. Other option is to raise motor one hole. I believe the rev limiter is over 6000 on the XS so you should not have a problem pushing 5800. I am experimenting with props this week and will post results. I may even raise the motor a notch to see what happens. Hope this helps, please post any results as there is not much info on the new 619 yet. Thanks
