In spite of the annual mayfly hatch fishing was pretty good on 7/2. 7th St landing was ankle deep with mayflies around the light poles.

Caught 5 walleyes while fishing the wingdams and leeches were by far superior than anything else. Sweeping small jigs with half a crawler also produced but the leeches were definately better. Seems like once the mayflies hatch leeches are pereferred. Water temp is around 78-79. Water clarity is pretty good and surface junk was not a hindrance while trolling.

Sounds like you had a good day. We fished Pool 9 7/5. Caught 3 sauger with the biggest at 19". Jigs tipped with leeches working wingdams. Going to Pool 10 7/7 to give it a try.
