Location: Rhinelander | The weather has been 'interesting', with temps cooler than normal until, of course, the PWT Super Pro here begins. Today the HOT trend started, with temps hitting 92 degrees as of right now. The City of Dryden held a Pig Roast last night, and Indian Point Camp hosted a breakfast for the Pros in camp today prepared by the good folks at Indian Point and Tim Devoe, (Merckid's dad).
Jim Kalkofen, outdoor writer and Exec. Director of the PWT and I got out on the water this morning fpr a couple hours. Jim got a Muskie (video to follow) and we got Pike to 40.75".
This heat will move the fish around some, but the pros are well aware of the trends here. I talked to several of the Pros over the last few days; most are into the fish really well, but big fish are at a premium. Yesterday, the nicer fish moved up some, according to Lund/Mercury Pro Mark Martin.
It's been interesting watching the Pros work this system, and find the spots it took me 28 years to discover in about 3 days...
