| What length of rod do you prefer when running boards? What about when flat lining? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

| I like my Fig Rig 7'10" trolling rods for planer board trolling. I do wish they had a bit longer handle, though.
For flatlining, I use a 6' medium rod with Fireline, and for leadcore, the rod is 9'6", also medium action. Gives me a nice spread in the river this way.

Location: Orland Park, IL | Those fig rigs are nice. Fished salmon with Guy L last weekend. They worked great.
I have got some 8'6 and 7'0 Rapala Long Casts. LIke $20 a rod. Mainly for mono board trolling. For leadcore, the soft tip of the Ugly stick suits me just fine. 8'6 and 6'6 cut down. Great for the river. Bass Pro has the 10'6 daiwa firewolf. Looks pretty slick. The gander mountain guide is nice too. |

| I use a firewolf 8-6 for almost all of my trolling applications. Not the best rod in the world, but price is great and they are sensitive. |
