| Help my navionics xl gold chip for the east great lakes will not work in any of my units. I have a navionics great lakes chip that work's in my lowrance units, so I know thats not the problem. Any thought on this problem or should I scrap it out and buy a new chip...........?

A couple of questions for ya' that may help in your pursuit to get this figured out.
What version software are you using on the 4900? You must get the latest update version 1.7.0 from the Lowrance update page for the Gold to work in your unit. You can get it at: http://www.lowrance.com/Downloads/Updates/default.asp
Next question, what version of the Navionics Gold chip did you buy? For the chip to work in your unit you need the SD and not the CF.
The Gold chart will work in a 15mt. You must use a classic chip for this to work. |

| Dennis,
I'm not sure what software is on both units. The xl gold chip is dated "04" and it worked on my last uint (globalmap 3300c) .
