"August 5th, Little Bay's walleye and fishing actio"

looking at the past 10 days fishing conditions showing signs of improving. Water surface temps. running 72' to 74' both upper/lower Bay waters. Going through a few days of some really hot/humid weather. Still seeing a few minor hatches of bugs along with numerous schools of alewives along with much year on the year perch and minnows.
Over all the walleyes being taken mostly using trolling methods with crawler harnesses/bottom bouncers working best off planer boards. Water depths varying but finding most active fish in that 20 to 35 feet of water and over mud. Jigging and live-baiting rigs slow fished through the weeds and on the edges too working.
Live bait and crawlers, some leeches and now even some minnows tipped on these rigs.

Perch too have been hitting fairly well around weedy areas and deeper water. Small minnows, worms and artificial grub tails.
Split shot and small hooks fished vertical and slip-floats.

Pike and Smallmouth Bass being taken as well working edges of breaks and weeds. Spinnerbaits, tubes and crankbait some lure picks.

Lot's of family trips lately so its neat seeing the kids having fun with Dad and Mom.
