Location: in the boat off the east shore somewhere | in no special order.. about 300 crank baits. 1 9.9 kicker motor, walk threw windshield. anchor, a few rod and real combo's landing net or two, watch, shades, possibly 1 jig. and last but not least, a door knob , out door faucet , vice grip, a foot of one inch chain, bed spring, dead bolt, horseshoe, stapler, manual can opener, trailer hitch ball, and a large gate hinge, (most of them tied to my marker boye), now i use a little thicker cord as it takes less time to wind up and i dont lose as much stuff... im i on my own or is there a big walleye on the bottom running a re-sale shop? |

| I've lost a good number of items too. Topping the list a digital camera and a watch. The digital camera sucked, the watch was a real heartbreaker. It was a Rolex that my uncle gave me as a college graduation gift. Not one of the $10,000 variety but pricey enough that I won't be getting another one anytime soon.
Funny(not really funny) part was the story behind the watch. My Grandma had brought back one for each of her boys from Switzerland in the late 60's. My dad and other uncle promptly lost theirs in various lakes. The third watch survived for 30+ years with the third brother who doesn't spend much time on the water. I had it for two weeks before it joined the others at the bottom of Lake Michagin. It was like it wanted to be at the bottom of the lake and had waited patiently all those years for the opportunity. I still haven't had the heart or balls to tell my uncle what happened.  |

Location: in the boat off the east shore somewhere | ooh west side, thats a heart breaker, dude,,, never know there may be something to that lost in the lake thing,, i hope the fish gods are happy and reward you , i try not to bring such items as i am prone to screw up, still used disposable camera and the clock on my gps or cell phone.. if i ever learn to talk to the fish i will find out where all this stuff goes and we will have to take a road trip. |

Location: Berlin | I lost a pair of dirty underwear, map, complete set of teenage mutant ninja turtles (still in the packaging), 3 crankbaits, 5 jigs, bag of cheese curds, coloring book, half a glass of water and countless 30"+walleyes I never actually saw. If anybody finds any of these items, please return them. |

Location: LaCrosse, WI | I like to feed my cell phones to the Mississippi. Some times when the water is low, I help to displace some of it by leaving an anchor on the bottom. I had a buddy help me dispose of a new red life jacket on Green Bay a few weeks ago. I apparantly wasn't very clear when I said "put that life jacket on or at least hold on to it so it doesn't blow out". I think that means set it behind everybody on the floor and hope it doesn't blow out at 55 mph.
My personal favorite is droping stuff down the hole when ice fishing. There's nothing like looking at a $50 LeatherMan sitting on the bottom in 8' of water. My buddy dropped his car keys down the hole last year. I knew I shouldn't have let him drive.
Thanks for all the good memories, at least I know that I'm not the only one who feels like a bonehead sometimes. |
