Member Posts: 3899 | I'm used to you being late on most things, Zach! hehehe Yes, I remember. We had to have caught over 60 walleyes in 4 hours. Went through at least 6 dozen crawlers. It was non stop from the start. For most of that time, we had less than 4 rods in the water at any one time. Only broke one harness, and that was do to a deep hooked fish, and I got the line with the pliers. I would guess that one harness probably caught 20 fish, and I used it the next day! I like my flouro. If you want to use something else, that is your decision. I'm not saying you are wrong. Just saying that I don't think I am wrong for using flouro. Send my prop! I need to sell it. Thanks. Edited by Shep 8/14/2007 2:38 PM

Member Posts: 859 Location: Appleton wi | Sorry but I'll never use vanish again too many unexplained breakoffs. I used it for 2 years and gave up on it. I however went back to xt this summert and my defect of unexplained breakoff declined greatly. Infact i caught atleast 6 world record walleyes this summer on the bay but unfortunatly i was by myself and my camera didnt work any of those days but trust me and belive me XT is the best!LOL

Member Posts: 125 | One other factor I did not see mentioned here was the ability of Fluro to resist breakdown by UV. Also Fluro does not have the same water absorption as regular mono. If you don't think this matters to much then more power to you , but I do not have to re-tie all my harnesses every year just because they were used. (Only nicked up ones) Try this.... run a couple harnesses out of 15# mono for a season and a coupe out of Fluro and then next year take them out and give them both a yank. My money is on the Fluro being as strong as the year before. 15# Carbon Pro for me. Switched years ago and have not looked back.

Member Posts: 617 Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin | Jayman won't net most of the fish I catch so my harnesses seldom last more than a few trips... Nothing lasts longer than fireline. I like the 17# vanish, but I'm not married to it. When this spool is gone, I'm planning on trying a 15# floro, probably the seagur.

Member Posts: 1656 | Hey Shep, 17# vanish is no match for the toothy critters of Green Bay. Need to talk to the right people on how to stop stocking all them damn Skis!!!!

Member Posts: 43 | For the past three years I've been tying my harnesses using Triple Fish fluorocarbon 15#. It has worked well. After catching several fish, one does need to switch to an unused harness and retire the used one though I sometimes break my own rule. Last Wednesday on the Vermilion sand bar I was using a harness which had a gold #5 Indiana blade, black beads, and a bright red 1/2" Little Corky floater which just whacked the walleyes. The one harness caught seven walleyes. (we were sorting) Needless to say, I was quite pleased.

| Seguar has my vote. 15# been using it for years. Way better abrasion resistance then XT 15# I use to use. As for tying knots, that might be a user problem. | |||
