"March 8th. on the shores of Little Bay de Noc,"

-5' below this morning with a clouded over sunrise in the east. Winter still hanging in there pretty tight.
Over all conditions on the ice and seeing travel on the ice with trucks, ATV's and sleds as snows have settled a lot.
Anglers now on the ice and perch is their main target. Water depths varying fisherman should spend time in the weed beds as well some of the deeper areas. Good starts would be off the Kipling Launch areas near and around Butlers Island. Drilling numerous holes are a key in finding these tasty bites and fishing will only get better with warming, sunny days approaching.
Tackle choices and probably the simpliest and works all the time; split-shot, gold aberdein hook with a slip-float. Best baits and wigglers, waxies and perch minnows.

Been hearing of a few Whitefish being caught off the Escanaba area.

For more fishing info. contact the local Bait Shops like BayShore Bait and Tackle along with the Bayview Bait and Tackle.
Good luck to all of you and thinking spring!

Remember Fishermen; we continue to book fishing trips for the upcoming Open-Water season so give us a call or email us for available dates!
Some great Open-Water Perch fishing will be coming in later April and into May.

Marty
