Me and the Brother hit the Bay at 8:00am this morning. Caught 18 walleyes, 3 pike and 1 smallmouth bass and pulled back out at 11:00am with our limit. All really nice fish up to 23 inches.

Like predicted the SSE winds were already outrageous. Anything past the island and you were in 2 to 3 footers, and the further out you went the worse it was. Came back in towards Kawkawlin but only looked. Told the brother to head downshore. Somewhere just South of the Blue Wall, in about 6 FOW we ran into some fierce weedbeds. Also noticed a wide/clear openeing that cut into them. Suggested we put out only 2 boards per side, run them close to the boat and run Bombers very short behind the boards, between the two beds. Dave did not like the idea because he hates driving when the wind is blowing so hard, and doing it precisely between these weed beds was really going to suck (as he put it). So I voluteered to drive and he could just watch the rods. He was down for that. It didn' take long and we were in the fish big time. Of course we were also in the weeds. It was a constant battle, but only running two per side wasn't that bad.

Now the bloodbath part of my subject title and something that proves just how much of a game hog the brother really is. Dave gets a rip, pulls in this 38 inch Gar Pike. While hoding the pike and trying to get the hooks out, the fish flips and rams yet another set of trebeles into and past the barbs, in the back of the brothers hand. While trying to cut the end of the hook off his other rod goes off with a fish. He then tells me to un-hook the line from the Bomber on his first rod, so he's not hindered by it, and can reel in the other fish he has on, before he even has the hook out of the back of his hand. He would not let me reel it in. He did so with one bomber burried in one hand, and risking yet more calamity and flesh damage, with the 2 reamining barbs flying around as he reeled and landed the other fish.
