Fished pool 5 at Alma last Saturday and the bite was tough. Spent the first couple of hours casting wingdams and sand flats and never had a bite. Later in the day we jigged deeper and managed a few small saugers and had a 15 minute battle with a 3 1/2 ft sturgeon, great fun. Sunday put us back at Red Wing and much better results. We worked various drops and put quite a few nice saugers in the boat. The bigger fish were holding on the " spots on the spot" and the smaller fish were pretty much scattered all over the place, it really pays to keep a close eye on your electronics. Maybe try a little ice fishing on the backwaters next weekend.
