Location: Rhinelander | The bite was very tough out of Oconto for a major portion of the field; so tough that there were about 38 teams with zeros.
The top weights are impressive at 39-07 for Gaines and Rhoades, and 37.15 for Dempsey and Adler. Third drops to 21-15 for Lowe and Jaster, and tumbles to just 7-12 for a tie for 19th. There is a near 25 pound difference between 10th and 1st.
The weather for the Bay out of Oconto looks cloudy with a chance of some storms tomorrow with highs in the low 70's, but there is a chance for dense fog in the morning--there could be a fog related delay. East winds to 10 are forecast, so it appears that other than a chance of a thunderstorm working up the Bay, winds will be acceptable.
Will anyone else other than the top two teams figure out the bite? Will their bite hold? Stand by for a full report tomorrow evening!
