| Great time, but we only had about a 60% turnout.
The best news is that John Hoagland who is the VP and Director of Marketing for Mercury Marine presented us with a check for Norb Wallocks family in the amount of $2,000 His son also lead the field in the first round of the closest to the pin shootout and also caught the biggest fish a 31 inch northern pike. Everybody had a good time and all the teams got plenty of prizes, food and fun.
I would also like to thank Rick LaCourse and Juls for their FANTASTIC spirit!! Their efforts and contribution to the event are the way everyone should strive to be when backing or participating in an event. I THANK YOU!
Others who "chipped in" and helped make it a fun and exciting event (even though the cold front slowed the fishing) - The Team from Bass Pro Shops in Gurnee - Mark Gostisha from Frabill, WOW is all I can say. - Tom Miller from Jiffy, WOW gain. - Keith Kavacjez, whose help and participation are part of the foundation of this event - Tony Puccio from Bait Rigs - Bill Ortiz - Mike Theryrel - Dave Van Oss, who thanked me 27 times for inviting him - Dean Arnoldussen - Dan Plautz, who never stopped smiling the entire day. - Daryl Christensen - Doug Burns, (have a Thermacare on my sore ankle right now, THANKS for coming back Burnsy!!) - Chuck Miller and last but certainly not least Mike Gofron. I'll post a complete list of thank you's, pictures and information about the event on my website in a day or two after I get caught up. Although we didn't get even close to meeting our goals, in two years we have shown that with a little more help this can be a very special event. |
