Location: Appleton | Congratulations and THANKS to all 61 teams that fished the MWS Escanaba, MI Bay de Noc tournament. The entire TFM crew appreciates your professional actions and continued support of the MWS Series.
It was beautiful day for the start of the tournament. Later in the day the winds picked up particularly to the south where many of the anglers fished making for some rough rides. We had some great weights with seventeen teams weighing a four fish limit. The winners trolled with crawler harnesses with no one specific color providing more success. The teams all stated that they tried various colors and presentations to get their fish.
The team of Stephen Paulsen and Jeff Gibson took first place with four fish weighing 20.86# winning them $3,000. Second place went to the team of Rob Krause and Dave Dretske with four fish totaling 20.72# for $1,400. Third place went to the team of Dave and Joe Hackett with four fish weighing 19.78# for $800. Fourth place went to the team of Ron and Vickie Goldapske with four fish totaling 19.76# for $500. Fifth place went to the team of Pat and Erv Schutte with four fish weighing 19.36# for $450. . The big fish of the tournament was a 8.38# walleye caught by the team of Randy Vande Zande and Dave Palecek
The 2005 team of the year is Jim Tiemann and Deborah Ojala. The 2005 husband/wife Team of the year is Ron and Vickie Goldapdske. The parent/child Team of the year is Erv and Pat Schuette. The top twenty five teams will fish the MWS Championship October 8 in Green Bay out of Metro Park. A banquet will follow Saturday evening.
