Opening Day following the storm and lot's of lighting the previos night and fishing was OK!
Today being a searching day both my wife, Becky and I set out a bit after 8:00 AM this morning.
Water surface temps. running at between 53" and 58' and cool winds from the northwest.
Ran a pattern starting at the north end of the Bay concentrating our 3 hour time slot working waters 6 feet and shallower along with newly forming weeds and our favorite method "jig-fishing!"
Keeping 4 really nice Walleye, loosing 2 others at boat-side and catching 2 Northern Pike wasn't a bad opener indeed.
Lot's of boat in the upper Bay and hearing of some pretty good catches in the morning hours.
Our methods of fishing and 1/8 ounce lead head jigs tipped with 1/2 crawlers took the fish for the morning.
Controlled drifting using bags and the electric kept us in the area where we were consistently marking fish.
Keep in touch fisherman and we'll put you in touch with some good bites!
