It was tough to make the decsion to make the trip to Erie after all the bad news we had heard from friends that had returned. We did get out a couple days and had some nice fish. Just like most, we returned early due to the forcasted high winds and rain. We did find somewhat clear water and trolled cranks and Big Eye Custom Lures blades and caught some nice fish.

I had just purchased a new camera and did not take pictures when we caught the fish as it was raining most of the time. As you can see we are in our rain suits and heavy paraka's. Yes we did catch fish on Reef Runners but the Tony Tiger blade caught many fish. I posted this pic so anglers could see the combo we were running as prior to this year I never knew what a Tony Tiger blade was. When I get back to Erie, I plan on running this combo again.

OMG. The fella said he caught fish on cranks and spinners. Everyone should take a deep breath and chilllllllllll. Always nice to see results of a good outing. Congrats.
Take care,

FYI, here in NY just about everywhere in the state is in floodstage of some sort. ramps closed all over. not good for the walleye opener sat. also not good for my 3 days off next week... planned on heading to Champlain and just heard the ramp parking lots are underwater.

Greg didn't say it was a down pour all day, He never said he only caught fish on blades either, he said he didn't want to take a picture with his new camera while it was raining, so clearly, he waited until it stopped to take the picture, it would really help if you all would actually read what is written before sounding off. Greg does a lot to promote the sport of fishing, and to take pot shots at him for something so rediculous is childish. I see nothing wrong with a guy catching some nice fish and taking a picture (with a blade or crank, etc) and sharing it with people. Looks to me like they had a pretty good outing.

woke up this morning with a strange site... a small bit of blue sky... my eyes are burning...
Hey Komo, how are Great lake water levels looking? ont, erie, etc. last fall ont. very low.
FYI Komo, they closed Oneida and connecting rivers to navigation(state police) hope you weren't heading up there for the opener sat...
My 3 days off are looking ugly next week. Champlain is at record high water. ramps closed... was hoping to do some spinner rig fishing with the new MK trolling motor sitting here. (rear motor) always good when the giant box shows up! thank you New York State lottery! might have to get some beer and rethink the whole trip location... Hendersen, st. lawrence river?
great pics above, where can a guy get those tiger tony spinner deals? I'm starting from scratch so that looks like a good place to start.
