What info are you looking for inparticular? My personal opinion, I'd of said hold off till the Lowrance HDS-8, HDS-10 were available. I saw some pics that were pretty cool!

I was looking for the lowrance HDS10 but I've heard from several people that the processor is very very slow. They said wait a yaer until they get it right but I am also looking at the side finder.

I will have a couple video clips up of the new HDS units in action. Not sure where you heard about the processor being slow but I got to play with a couple of these units this past weekend and they are by far the fastest processors in any unit I've ever run. Chris from Lowrance explains where you'll see the new processor shine.

my HDS-8 is right here ready to go... will add SI when it becomes available... throwing around sirius right now...
TJ, my old Lowrance units had hookups for external speakers, went through the HDS manual and nothing about it...
seems like it might be needed if guys are gonna hookup Sirius to these things... any inside info you got will help...

also have a 28lcx ($1200) added the hd sounder($600.00), that has a much better display, but for 600.00 for the hd, i dont think it was worth it

In one of the videos Chris from Lowrance talks about the Sirius hookup and how it works. I will try and get the clips up when I can, the connection isn't fast here in Las Vegas. Look for them soon though!

Fishtrap Do you find the si was a worth while investment? I just bought 2 of the 917 birds without that option. My dealer talked me out of that option and what is your opinion of the machine as a whole. I have always run lowrance and decided to make the switch. Did i make a wise choice??
Thanx

I have a Humminbird 987c si, I think th si isn't worth the extra money and would not buy another one. The regular sonar works perfectly, but not impressed with the si. Next time it will be a Lowrance.
