NPAA Members Design New Crankbait

SPRO MadEye Shad ™

NPAA members Dean Arnoldussen, Pat Neu, Tom Keenan, and John Gillman used their extensive experience and creativity to create a unique new crankbait.  These four accomplished anglers comprise the new SPRO Walleye Team (SWT™).  The SPRO MadEye Shad ™ is SPRO’s first introduction into the Walleye Market.  As one of the hottest brands in the fishing industry, SPRO created the SWT to assist SPRO in development of products targeted at the Walleye Markets across the US and Canada.

The SPRO MadEeye Shad features premium Gamakatsu treble hooks that are very strong, and feature a lite wire design to allow maximum penetration in a walleye’s mouth.  The MadEye Shad is made to be cast or trolled and reaches depths from 5 to 11 feet.  The MadEye Shad features a unique paddle tail that has never been done on a crankbait.  This paddle tail creates great new action designed to trigger even the finickiest fish into biting.  “The MadEye Shad is a fish catching machine” says SPRO Sales Manager Syd Rives.  The product will be available on the retailer’s shelves in early April.  www.spro.com

NPAA Membership is open to all anglers wishing to become affiliated and learn more about tactics, sponsorships, the industry, youth events and to help grow fishing participation.  More NPAA news and a membership roster can be found at www.npaa.net.

The NPAA is an organization dedicated to improving and bringing professionalism to the sport of competitive angling.  NPAA supporting partners who share the same goals include Northland Fishing Tackle, Navionics, Mercury Marine, Evinrude Outboards, Lund Boats, Ranger Boats, Off-Shore Tackle, Fin-Tech Tackle, Berkley, Walleye’s Inc., Outdoor First Media, Greater Insurance Services, Bartness Industries, Anglers Insight Marketing,  Masters Walleye Circuit and FLW Outdoors.

Just to get the sidebar ad out of the text of this.

I first saw this lure last year at the Green Bay FLW League. Pat gave me one. I did run it after that for a few hours on Bago. No luck, but am going to pound the walleyes on Poygan this spring and Bago in June with it.

Tom K told me about it late last summer, early fall. Been interested in taking a look a one since then. Saw them in the FLW mag this spring. Picked a couple up at Gander yesterday. Looks like an interesting crank to add to the casting arsenal. There's a certain stretch of rock I'm anxiuos to cast them on. Shep, let me know how you do with them trolling.

moreyes, Fleet Farm in Lakeville has them. I'm not sure if other Fleet Farm stores have them though. They're actually on sale this week.
