It was like glass all night out there, well at least until 11:30 pm when we headed in. The Moon was full and you could actually see each In-Line and the V-shaped wake it left behind it with the naked eye. We went 5 for 7 with a couple of dandys thrown in. I see where the image feature to post the picture right in the thread has been removed. So I entered the image address instead. http://www.walleye-express.com/albums/night/IM000581.jpg Edited by walleye express 4/8/2004 10:54 AM

I'm in the middle of a plant relocation so 12-14 hour days are the rule right now. I predict a lot of 3-4 day weekends from May forward though. Keep up the good work.

I'm sure by now, many of you who have been fallowing this particular thread, want to know what Bo and I are talking about that happened the other night on my night charter on the Bay. I'm going to tell this story as discretely as I can, as some may actually find it repulsive or maybe even un-sportmanlike. But I'm sure most will relate and find it amusing. Prior to meeting my clients at 6:00pm Wednesday afternoon at the local sports shop, I cooked myself a dinner at home around 3:30pm to fight off any hunger pangs I might get out on the water. Whenever I get to cook my own meals, I like to cook the things the wife don't like to cook and cook them in the ways I like them best. Nothing is better tasting to me than Baby Calves Liver, Onions and whole Mushrooms fried in butter. So thats exactly what I had. The down side of course, is what all that Bowl Lube does to you in very short order. Well around 8:30pm, with 3 hours left to the charter I started getting bodily warnings of impending doom. When I was a young man, I could hold off these warnings for literally hours. But my toilet habbits after I turned 50 have been anything but predictable. I soon realized I was going to have to take immediate action, or face a mess of biblical purportions. With no pale or other device aboard, I informed the clients that I was going to do some business out the back of the boat, and proceeded to get busy. Up to that point, we had not had any strikes on our offerings. But as fate would have it, the middle In-Line fell way back from the others heavy with fish, in the middle of my business. "Fish-On" the guy in front yells. "What do you want us to do" the other guy asks. With no toilet paper aboard, the first thing was grab a small boat towel out of my center console to tidy things up some. Not wanting to litter the Bay with a Non-biodigradable item, I wedged the cleaner end of the towel into the ski cleat at the back of the boat for both cleaning and safe storage after the fish was in. Of course when the guy in front came to the back of the boat to play the fish, the water level rose on the boat and the towel got washed free. But don't worry, we recovered it. Yup, the In-Line with the fish on it hooked the floating towel behind the boat and every body got to see (and smell) my work up close, when I un-hooked both the board and it from the fishing line. Funny thing was, the fish really started to pop after that. Might be a new fish scent out on the market soon. Capt: Dan's Mud Pie fish attractor. Could even just sell towel soaked scent you simply drag behind the boat. ![]() Edited by walleye express 4/9/2004 2:46 PM

That and the fact I don't eat it very often because the wife will never cook it for me, "Because it stinks up the kitchen". I really should have know better. I'll be fasting on any future open water night trips. ![]()
