| I tried everything I could think of and only caught a couple Sheeps on Poygan today. Nils Masters, Shad Raps, Ruff Guys, crawler harnesses and a few other cranks and came up empty. Only pulled a limit once this year on Monday May 8th with a moderate SW wind. Thanks for the report. I was only at 1 to 1.5 and will try kicking it up faster tomorrow. |

| I was on Poygan Fri trolling the Hole area (NW part of it mainly off Indian Point) for three hrs from 7 to 10AM. Nothing but Whites and Sheeps. Pulled Taildancers and Shade Raps. Then went to the reeds and nothing there. Did hear on the radio that a couple of guys did get a Eye or two. Worked most of my life so I could fish the rest, and that's what I am doing. But the wife is putting the pressure on for a fish fry. Blank, a lot cheaper taking her out for one. Have to go put a steak on the grill for tonight and will give it a try on Poygan tomorrow. Thanks for reporting your success Purple Skeeter, I'll keep giving her. |

| I used to have the same problem until I started adding a 20' 10 lb flourocarbon leader to the Fireline or Power Pro. Acts as a shock absorber and my catch rates have gone way up. Question is..why not just use the mono?? If all you are doing is trolling a shallow lakes like the Bago system then I dont think you need Fireline. However, I only have about 10 trolling reels and some have to do double/triple duty like salmon trolling with Dipseys in 100' of water. So, the leader really comes in handy.

| out today 6:30 to4:00. started on winnaconnie got 2 keeper walleyes right away, then headed over 2 poygan got 2 miday.went back to winnaconnie picked up 2 more walleyes.also got 3 northerns, 18,25,30, all still swimming.friend had a big sturgon on till line broke.must have caught 10, 8" walleyes.we tryed most ever crank we had.long day in a 14ft boat when that wind picked up.  |

| I also use fire line on my board rods. Haven't had to change my line in 5 years.
Found that my catch rates go way up if I use Mustad Triple grip hooks on my crankbaits. They seem to hold fish better than VMC's or Gamas.
I have also used a 10' mono leader and that also seems to help. Good Luck. SB |
