They have their Rad Shads (ana copy of Rapala ShadRap) and Walleye Runners (Reef Runner copies) on sale for $1.99 each.

Has anybody tried or had any success with these? Should I save my money?

Fifty views and no feedback. I think that says a lot about these baits. Even though the crankbait addiction makes it hard to pass up $1.99 baits, I think I'll put my money towards proven performers.:-)

The Rad Shads are great at catching Sheephead on 'Bago......unfortunately all the sheephead died from VHS.

Good luck

Bob,

Because I travel past the Cabels store in Richfield 10 times a month... I have fallen for the $1.99 sale price a couple of times... I had a $100 Gift Certificate burning a hole in my pocket last time I stopped and with the $30 off if you spend $100 coupon, I was able to buy 70 of the Ripshads and Reefrunner look-a-likes.... but I have yet to put one in the water.  I also own 6 of every color and size of the Berkley Frienzies (another Cabelas sale)... and have yet to put them to the test.

My fish catching tackle on the bago chain could be contained in a Cigar box (#5 Rapala Shads and a few Firetiger Harnesses), but someday, I'm going to "hammer em" on all my thousands of crankbaits I own.... or put them up for sale!

But.. come this summer, when the mud bite gets hot.... I'm going to try every single one of them... well... maybe not, I'll just go back to #5 Glass Perch Shads and maybe I'll try 1 of all the new Hot-N-Tots I got on sale last year at Gander in Germantown for $1.99 each.

I need Help!

I can't help going back to what continues to work for me and that has not changes over the years very much!  Dam @#$ Cabelas/Bass Proshops Sales...

I picked up a couple of the Walleye Runners and tried them last Saturday. They ran through the water like my Deep Little Rippers and the fish seemed to go for them. I like the color selection on the rippers much more.

Well I bought 30 of them to add to the existing lineup of the proven Reef Runners. At that price it is nice to have some extra lures that cover the bases and provide a nice backup.

The rad shads quality is terrible. They cannot take any abuse or else the bill becomes "unglued" from the body. I will not buy any more of these cheap baits, Im glad I didnt dump the bank account on them.

I had a few of the walleye runners at Little Bay De Noc last spring and they worked as well as any other bait...sometimes better. The hot color at that time was tutti-frutti. I just ordered some more since the 1.99 sale and the 2 times that I tried them have produced fish. I did buy some of the shad rap imitators with the first purchase last year, and I don't like them. There is almost no action, hard to watch the rod tip bounce without vibration. No fish on them yet, but then again, Shad Raps aren't my best lure either.

The rad shads didnt do nothing for me either, except cause me to retie my lines when i took them off, two swam like a stick, and the other broke on a cast into some rocks....
i'll stick with my shad raps instead

I see more and more mass retailers copying the originals and the copies of originals... I see my friends back home bought about $700 worth of Cabela's closeouts and they use them to troll on the Danube river... because they do not care when they lose them to the tremendous snags from the annual lumber layoff in the sandbars - they do ok with Zander!
I still would love to argue on catchability and color matching (though being colorblind) I cannot be the final judge so I leave it to the Walleyes

Good Fishing!
