Member Posts: 2567 Location: Manitowoc, WI | I just bought some Walleye Angler 8'6" telescopic trolling rods at the Bass Pro Shops website. If you decide to order, you need to do so through the Council Bluffs, IA store, as this is a sale at their location only. The rod number is 28-120-688-00. They're on sale for $38.99 and there is a $6 charge per rod for shipping. Not a bad deal!!! Edited by jerry 2/21/2006 7:41 AM

Member Posts: 885 | Jerry, I need to buy 3 additional rods for 3 SG17's I just bought... I'm looking for a lighter set-up.. (I alreday own 6 17's on Gander Telescopic) would you go with the Bass Pro rods or the rods from Cabelas... Same Price $39.00 each. Same length and telescopic handle?? Also.. I punched The item# you gave out on the website bassproshops.com and they list the sale price... so I think you can order them directly from the web!! Member Posts: 5 | I was at the C.B. IA store today and they were out of last years 8'6" trolling rod that were on sale. They only had two of the 7'6" model left. However, I showed them a printout of the internet sale price and they gave me the $39.88 price on the 2006 model that currently sells for $69.95. Walked away a happy camper.

Member Posts: 580 Location: Green Bay, WI | Here's something I found when I tried it. I started by entering the item number Jerry gave us at the top of the home page and by setting the store to CB, IA. The search gave me all three rod lengths(7.5, 8, 8.5 feet) at the sale price. I selected one of each and as Jerry said there is a $6 extra shipping charge per rod. From there I went back to the home page and drilled down the freshwater fishing link to rod/reels combos then into bait casting combos. Found the Walleye Gold Cup combos for $99.99 and select one of each rod length on the 2000 Gold Cup reel, but on the combo there was NO additional shipping charge. Just an FYI.

Member Posts: 166 Location: Freedom, WI | Do you guys suggest getting these rods for trolling the bay/winnebago system? I need some new trolling rods this year, is this a deal worth taking advatage of or should I wait it out for a better deal to come along? I currently have eagle claw rods that are medium light action that are just too light for my likings, should I go with the medium or medium heavy action? Thanks guys, I appreciate any feedback!

Member Posts: 1656 | These rods are a great choice for trolling, especially with fireline, they have plenty of backbone yet a soft tip to take the surging action of waves and boards. Do not fret if you don't get in on this deal now, they seem to run sales on these rods multiple times a year. Good Luck

Member Posts: 201 Location: Jackson, Wisconsin 53037 | Billie, Go to the freshwater fishing page, click on rods (species specific), then click on the New walleye angler rods. When that page comes up, on the right side it will say, Clearance, walleye angler rods.
