If you need some thing to do the weekend, this is a good show.
Bring the kids lots of stuff for them.
It is at the Energy center just off the belt line.
Some of gate proceeds are donated to fishing organizations in the area,
that do things like handicapped fishing days ,and kids clinics.
Feb. 27,28,and get this Feb.29 this year this weekend.
Lots of tackle vendors, boats ,and seminars.
Look forward to this show and I hope to be there Friday.

Only excuse that will be accepted for not getting there is if you have the boat in the water.

Always nice show and good facilities. I plan to be there either SAT or Sunday or both split between Clements Fishing Barge/Taylor Tackle/Captain Hooks,(all in same booth), and Crestliner areas. Stop by and say hi. Lawrence

Well,
It looks like We will not get there Friday.
Friends dog is in the Em. Animal Hospital today.
Don't know what is wrong but hoping he will get out tomorrow.
Great Dog, Black Lab. he just would not get up in the morning, and has a bad health history.
Has been going hunting on Wednesdays(game farm)and was very playful the evening before.
Sat. is the tentative day now.
Sorry I am going to miss meeting you Larry Eaton, but I am sure we will be in the same room some where along the walleye trails.

Hey, guys I will also try to get there 6-ish to try and hook up with some good deals. Will be wearing a Gander MTN Cap - go pick me out of the million LOL. Actually off any color match will have a Navy/Baby blue FUBU Hoodie and blue jogging pants. Meet you guys there - I will stop by the muskie first and Lakelink stands. You will see me trigger-happy with my camera snapping away by the Bass tank LOL.
Cannot wait. Besides things are warming up trout fishing...

Well got there about 1830 yesterday - raffled right away and the boat is really great - I don't think the livewell was spacious enough but will not worry about it now LOL. Took along the lady and was she ever more bored First thing that got me really impressed were the minnow races for the little guys and that this was the only fun event there! Most of the "Charter Advertisers" were so unhelpful and attending their canversations on the phone - neglecting potential customers and whatnot... Got quite a few business cards as I am looking into export for Europe of unpopular there soft plastics and electronics.

Once you show them "$" shaped signs they actually pay attention...and start jumping around...

As to turn-up I guess there must have been way over 3000 people that first day only at $7 a pop I hope th efinal "donation" is significant!
The biggest attraction of all:

The Bass Tank
was clear and steril bright lit - I, kind of, hoped for it to have at least one-way walls but those tortured fish were so spooked they ended up fighting Nick's sinkers and never his lures. Yes - the lecture was educational -highly sales-oriented but practicle advise was presented in the mix of brand names and trade marks - well an endorsement of $200k has got to prove its money's worth...
These two were my personal favourites:

I guess they truly belonged with the EXPO ideas.
We managed to see quite a few innovations - like the knee-based rod holders, for the lazy-bottom "angler",

The floating/wiggling/buzzers that are self autonomicly recharged, the knot-tying kit for the above-mentioned outdoorsmen and a wide range of high-priced electronics that every self-respecting fisherman aware of price-ranges would easily and conveniently find on-line direct...
As to show-stands the DNR interns did a respectful job lecturing anglers through all ages on invasive species not only from abroad but - non-native to WI waters in particular!

Of course, they had to restrain kids from grabbing handfuls of decks of flyers and calendars, but that was even more charming to the casual spectator. What got my interest there was the notion of
SMELT DISPLACING NATIVE WALLEYE FROM THEIR NESTING GROUNDS IN THE UPPER GREAT LAKES!

Well, I guess surprise is always on its way to find us(or me - at least)... The Bass fishing show turned no takes - and the presenter had to squeeze away a few ewcuses but it was great fun all in all.

Expectations of finding lots of ground breaking deals were totalled, but I did invest in a fly rod'n'reel so Root river Steelies beware!
In conclusion I should add that hopefully a kid would enjoy the pool casting the tank and minnow coral, but I think one evening's 2hrs or so were more than enough for me...

Well,
We made it today.
Great show, kid had a blast, minnow races, grab bags, and hook a prize.

Steve, great crowd there today not a parking space at noon.

Should of been on the water though, Deer and Turkey were out every where along the ride.
And get this.............. 3 bass caught in 1 tank show with 4 strikes at the lures, plus the ones at the weights.
Most I have ever seen in one sitting.

So I know the WI. river walleyes had to be putting the feed bag on.
