Are these things any good or better for painting practice?

Having been in the works for nearly five years, Normark's introduction of the "Risto Rap" comes after extensive field research throughout the South and the Midwest US.
The "Risto Rap" was designed to fill a specific niche in freshwater fishing, based on its design qualities. Built from balsa wood, this new lure allows for greater casting distances on line weights of 8 to 15 lbs test. The lure is designed to crank deep with the 1/2 oz. lure running 9 to 11 feet, while the 1 oz. model runs 13 to 15 feet.

| I bought a bunch of them years ago when one of the Erie guys had a good tournament and claimed that they were hot, using a bit of crawler on the hook.
That was many moons ago, and they no longer have any place on my boat. Way too many other good baits out there to use instead of trying to figure out if they will ever work.

| I love them and have a bunch. Best pike troller I've ever used. If you have water with both pike and trout, USE THE PLUM color.
I took the front hook off one and beefed up the swivel and hook on the tail. That's a thorwback bait for a muskie follow. Figure 8's are a breeze.
Caught a couple walleyes but mostly by accident. |

Location: georgia | Hello all.I have been hanging around a while trying to learn a few things about walleye lures from you guys.
I finally found a post I could reply too that I new something about lol.
I Custom Paint a Ton of Risto's every year.
I think they paint up about as nice as any bait out there.They are probably my least effective lure but paint up as pretty as any bait out there.I think they would make a great lure to practice on.

| Rapala discontinued producing the Risto lure. I haven't had any luck with catching a walleye on a risto but have had very good luck with stripers and hybrids on them.
I would be interested in any 1 oz Ristos in silver or shad color you might want to sell.

| they are good for casting wingdams on the mississippi. better to lose a few of those then shadraps. i have caught eyes on them doing this. |

| Yes they are a decent wingdam crank just like a Fat Rap or Bomber. Wingdam fish have a higher tolerance for fat crankbaits. |
