Going over the 41 bridge today couldnt help but noticing the water is all ready open from Oakwood point past sunset point. With the thin ice this year and the warm weather coming back in next week my bet is the ice will be off beut by 3/10

Depere is wide open. Psst... and the fish are thick. See the wolf river ice out post for a update on the fremont area.

There's plenty of open water in the NW corner of Winnebago. From the multitudes of seagulls and eagles, I bet there's fish -- sure, they're all dead shad but they're fish.

The open water just made it to my house aroung the corner on Sunset.  We have been watching over 30 Eagles on the ice every day.  We had 10 inches of ice last weekend in front of my house and now open water.

Rich, Depere is open and there are a "few" fish, My boat was actually in the water on February 4th, that is the earliest it was out. We need the rest of the frost to get into the river and some rain to really get them going.

Good Luck

Thanks guys.  My trolling motor is in the shop getting an extension.  I hope it is back in time for me to head to depere on Tuesday.  Oshkosh is wide open as well as Winneconne.  Butte was open almost as far as I could see.  With the temps next week it will be all over for the ice and I could not be happier.

I got up to Depere yesterday. The docks are in and the launch is perfect. Fishing is good with a 18-19" average. Sure was nice to get out.
