Member Posts: 499 Location: Appleton | Congratulations and THANKS to all 143 teams that fished the MWS Upper Winnebago Endurance tournament. You had cold, heavy winds and more of the same all day. The fish also did not want to cooperate adding to a long and frustrating day. In general the teams caught fish early and then spent a long day on the water. At the end of the day you all still were in good spirits after facing all the elements. It was cold and winding day on the Winnebago system and yet there were still some fish caught. The main success seemed to be trolling crank baits. The team of Stephan Paulsen and Jeff Gibson took first place with three fish weighing 12.06# winning them $5,000. Second place went to the team of Jon Piette and Larry Lambrecht with three fish totaling 9.88# for $2500. Third place went to the father son team of Jim O’Brien Sir and Chris O’Brien with three fish weighing 7.02# for $1600. Fourth place went to the team of Don Miller and Travis Mac Donald with two fish totaling 6.68# for $1000. Fifth place went to the team of Mike Hostettler and Brendan Uitenbroek with four fish weighing 6.56# for $900. GW Kadow and Tony Marcelle had the big fish of the tournament weighing 6.00# winning them $990 Big Fish Pot. They also received two plaques donated by All Sport and Trophy, an assortment of Ka Boom lures, and two gift certificates for Anglers Pride Current Team of the year is Stephan Paulsen and Jeff Gibson. Current husband/wife Team of the year is Joe and Kim Boehnlein. Current parent/child Team of the year is Jim O’Brien and Chris O’Brien. Current Sibling Team of the Year is Joe Mans and John Mans. Complete standings can be found on our web page www.fishtfm.com Major sponsors of the Series are Mercury Marine, Ranger Boats, MotorGuide and Okuma Rods and Reels. Supporting sponsors include Anglers Pride Specialties, Action Disc, All Sport and Trophy, KaBoom Lures, StowMaster Nets, Bait Rigs, Smooth Moves seats, Troll Master, LakeMaster. N.E.W. Member Posts: 3899 | Jonny. congrats on a great finish in what must have been pretty extreme conditions. Also congrats to Jim Kissinger and Rick Tadyzak on 23rd. I was really looking forward to fishing this tourney with my son, Eric. I withdrew due to the expected terrible weather. I just didn't want his first tourney to be a miserable experience because of the weather. We'll see you all at Green Bay in a couple weeks! Edited by Shep 5/1/2006 11:40 AM

Member Posts: 265 Location: Combined Locks, WI | Thank you for the congratulations. It was a tough and at times brutal day. I am not sure I have ever seen Poygan that rough and nasty. I want to thank my group I work with, Jim and Chris O'Brien and Bill and Matt Bobber. I was a little surprised at the size I pulled on Sunday during the tournament. On Saturday I could only manage 15" fish on the run I was making. I was going to take my chances with small fish figuring it was going to be a tough bite. I pulled Shad Raps and Dave's Ka-Boom Ruff Guys. In fact I only pulled one Ruff Guy because Dave is super busy right now and hasn't gotten my new Ruff Guys to me yet. Dave gave me a sample ring to show around, so I pulled the Ruff Guy off of the ring and put hooks on it. It was the only one I ran and it caught 2 of my 3 fish. Thanks Dave! awesome baits. Again thank you for the well wishes! Watch for my artical "Fishin With the Rocket" in the Outdoor Gazette which is inside the Auto Gazette news paper that comes out on Wednesdays. I will share a journal of my pre fish and tournament day. It may not make it in this week so watch for it next week. Edited by Jonny Rocket 5/1/2006 3:50 PM

Member Posts: 921 Location: Manitowoc, WI | Congrats Jonny! This was a good learning experience for me. Nice seeing you again. Wish I could have done better. I took a chance and came up without a legal fish. Maybe next time. Good luck this season and congrats to all who cashed a check. Ben, if you read this, email me. I need to talk to you.
