I'm looking for some info on a 2001 tuffy osprey 1990 with a 2001 mercury 125 elpto tiller.
Any info on the boat or motor would be great. I looking into buying this boat but my main concern is the motor and if I would be happy with it. Trolling speed, gas, etc.

I have no experience with that boat but I've owned and been around quite a few 125 Merc's, a couple on 2090 Warriors. I think they are a very dependable and durable engine that is low tech enough to be easy to fix. The biggest negative is fuel consumption. On a 2090 wide open gets you around 40 mph and you are running wide open everywhere you go. That doesn't help because they are thirsty, very thirsty compared to Optimax's. If you fish smaller lakes it's no big deal. If you run long miles, I would look for a DFI or 4 stroke.

Also, they do troll down nice but they also burn considerably more fuel when trolling than the new ones do.
