I got a lake near my house with a real healthy walleye pop... lake is loaded with small bluegills 2-4" long... catching alot of walleyes, I can feel a sunfish in it's stomach...
Any body else have walleyes feeding on sunfish and how do you aproach catching them in this situation... thanks...

Location: Rhinelander
Walleyes are opportunistic, and will feed on nearly anything they can get down. While gills and sunfish are not 'preferred' forage, if the lake is loaded with them, 'eyes will be eating them. If the fish have other food sources, say, Perch, they may key better on that pattern. It's a matter of finding out what they eat the most, and fish where the food is.
