I have a Power Drive 50 lb thrust trolling motor on my Alumacraft 165cs Magnum, I was wondering how fast this should pull me on 10? I'm getting around 1.6 - 1.9 MPH on the GPS but it seems like it should be pulling me faster on 10. When I put it on like 1, 2, 3 and 4 I can actually look down and see the prop turning really slow, do you think something is up with the trolling motor or the battery? My meter on the trolling motor tells me the batter is good (3 lights out of 4 light up)

That's a pretty big boat for a 50lb trolling motor. I would guess that less than 2mph would be about right. A 70lb trolling motor usually takes about 50-60% to pull an 18' boat around 1mph, so I would think a 50 would max out at less than 2.

I would suspect, you just have too small of a trolling motor to get much more speed.
