Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | Just got back from the Bay. Started down in front of Parish, 12 to 14 FOW, trolling near about 12 other boats for an hour. Never seen a net or hit a fish. The wind started to build steadily, predicted to top out at 35 MPH today. So the waves built quickly after 10:00am, so we headed in closer to shore. Got down near the Kawkawlin where the water was stained, broke out the Long A Bombers and went to a very short lead program. 4 FOW and 8 feet behind the boards. We caught some very nice fish. The brother got to use his new Bill Dance scale on a few. I got a 27 inch (spawned out) male just a hair over 7 pounds. Brother Dave got one that weighed 8 and change. We released 4 big fish and Dave kept 4 including his biggest as it was bleeding from the gills and went belly up quickly in the live well. We kept track and our top 5 fish would have scaled 32 pounds and change. We also seen a boat catch about a 10 pound steelhead near us in that shallow stuff. The wind was (I'm guessing) at a sustained 25 MPH, SSE when we came in at 2:00pm.
