The 131 boat field left the launch with no delay today as the weather was more favorable. The treat of storms was a miss and the overnight lows stayed in the 60s, which excited many anglers who know warmer water temps and calm conditions will make for more effective fishing.

"The flat conditions will hurt some anglers, but it fits my pattern well and I have high expectations," explains Chase Parsons, currently holding down the 10th place slot. "I think we will see comparable bags to what we saw yesterday, just a few more limits of heavy weights."

Rain and cooler temps seem eminent tonight which will disrupt a seemingly stable pattern for a majority of the field. Today is the cutoff for the Top 25 anglers, making a full bag absolutely necessary for those in contention.

"I'm on the cusp of making the cut depending on my pattern holding," says J.J. Keller/The Reel Shot Pro, Brian Keller. "I have to have a great day to remain in contention, and I am confident the fish I need are where I am fishing. I won't be wasting a single minute as the fishing should only get better as the day wanes on."

The weather will once again be the primary factor in how these pros and co-anglers approach their strategy. Highs are expected to soar to the upper 80s with winds under 10 mph, however the pending cold front should force the walleyes to strap on the feed bag. Expect another day of lots of big fish!

The Day-2 weigh-in starts at 3 PM at Water Works Park in downtown Port Clinton. Stay tuned for more images, videos, and updates.

Day two certainly didn't disappoint. The weather was good for most anglers, but not ideal for many others as nearly flat wind, mostly sunny skies, and warm temps dominated the day. With storms in the forecast and a Top 10 cut-off on the line, swinging for the fence was the only option. Lots of big fish were brought in!

As we heard yesterday, even though the day-one leaders were well defined, this lake is known for being 'on' one day and 'off' the next so today's top spot was wide open. Forty pound bags are definitely not impossible, but they are a surprise the spectators like to see. Tom Keenan did not disappoint by bringing in a tremendous bag weighing just over 46 lbs.

"I set out to break my personal Lake Erie record of 41.5 lbs.," explains Keenan, currently in 2nd place with a total of 81-13. "I am very confident with tomorrow as no one has been fishing around me. Its going to take a high 40 lbs. bag for me to be in contention for the win, I know those fish are there ant it is certainly not impossible. I hope I can entice them into eating!"

With a great showing yesterday by The Next Bite crew, Keith Kavajecz was the only member to make it past the Top 10 cut off. He managed to secure 3rd place with a total 2-Day weight of 73-05.

"I know the fish are there, but if the wind picks up I'll give these guys a run for their money," Kavajecz says. "My spot has been hot over the past few days, especially with the wind crashing in. I also know with a much smaller field, there won't be as many anglers targeting the same area. Tomorrow is going to be a great day."

Many angles who struggled yesterday did well today and better numbers of large fish were brought in. The weather conditions and continually warming water is at the root of the numbers of quality fish being brought in. With a storm front moving through tonight, its hard to say what will happen to the water conditions overnight. The top ten pros and co-anglers will have their work cut out for them, but someone will find them.

Take off is at 7, with weight-in at the Port Clinton Walmart at 3 PM. More updates and videos will be posted, as usual. Stay tuned!
