I am planning installing a boarding ladder on my 2008 Lund similar to the one shown (form a previous post). Securing it to the transom is no problem. My question is, what about the other end of the platform? There is a two inch ledge with aluminum plate but I am concerned about the "up"pressure that will be on that end of the platform when the ladder is used. Anyone come up with a way to secure down the forward edge of the platform?

When working on the transom be careful to keep the cap sealed on the top of the transom. I added a ladder to my 2006 Fisherman 8 years ago and drilled into the transom to mount the ladder and water got behind the aluminum and rotted the transom. Came in from the top under the cap. The ladder had different mounts but just caution to keep that back end water free.
