Location: Gladstone, Michigan 49837 | Spent much of the day fishing south of Escanaba today getting out on the waters mid-morning. Water surface temps. running at 60' and 62' by later this afternoon. South winds were mild earlier but putting a good chop on the waters after lunch. Partly cloudy to all sunny skies throughout the day now.
Worked waters south of Minneapolis Shoals using both crawler harnesses and cranks having one nice fish on loosing it when un-clipping the board. Didn't mark a lot of fish but the ones seen looked nice.
We then ran and fished the breaklines along Breezy Point drop and north towards Escanaba using live-bait rigs and dragging jigs tipped with redtail chubs. Had several pickups but dropped bait, looks like a front moving into the area over the weekend with colder weather forecast, this might increase the feed!
Right now winds are blowing some good winds into the Lakeshore shoreline here across from the home.
We'll post any other news coming in yet this afternoon.
Capt. Keith had a pretty good yesterday morning in the upper bay working his crawler harnesses and boards catching 5 nice eating size fish.
This first cold snap might get these fish going now, we'll be back on the water again in the morning,
good luck to all of you on the water,
Captain Marty Papke
