Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | I finally know why the Pharaoh Ramseys let Mosses and the Israelites get out of dodge. It had to be the plague of the flies that was the last straw. Because I witnessed such a plague today out near the outer spark plug. I've been fishing when those little gnats are into everything, but today was so far beyond that, I'd call all the other times simply a distraction.
Oh we caught fish, but nobody was having fun reeling them in, it was that bad. The floor of my boat was actually slippery slick with the mess. Two of the clients refused to come out of the closed cabin. It was really a nightmare. And when finally a slight breeze comes up and I think that might blow them away, it got worse and became like a blizzard of bugs. We called her quits at 11:30 am with 17 walleyes and 3 keepers, one 5 pounder. Rattlers 120 back with sliders and 1/4 ouncers 100 back, 2.6 MPH. Tooty Fruity was the hot potato. Only took me 2 hours to clean the boat after the trip.
