Prayers needed: Keith Kavajecz's son Bill and his girlfriend Nikki were in a serious car accident earlier today. Billy is in a coma with severe head injuries and Nikki broke her back. PLEASE SAY A PRAYER FOR THEM and the families in this trying time. Thank You! |

| Prayers are there. I hope its an induced coma. My wife and 2 boys were in head on 8 years ago and oldest boy was put in a induced coma to help the brain from swelling. I hope all turns out well and they have full recoveries. |

Good news this morning. Bill is responsive and followed commands to wiggle his toes and fingers. He is still heavily sedated, and will be for several days.

Just talked to Bill's nurse. More good news. Bill is actually continuing to improve slowly. They actually decided to decrease his sedation by half.
The reasoning is the quicker they can get him off the machines the less chance of infection and the less chance for pneumonia to set in deeply.
So they are working him every hour, getting him to do different things - squeeze his hand, thumbs up, wiggle toes, and most recently open his eyes (just a slit).
