Went bank fishing on the Wicsconsin River with Rich last Wednesday. We caught a good number of sauger and walleyes and had a great time of it.

Also, we were met at river's edge by a friend of Rich's from Europe. He just registered as a user to this site and now I post his picture for all to see!

Ooop, um that was 40 miles downriver from the upriver side of the dam I meant.....LOL!!

The spot isn't exactly a secret spot, but then we all must learn to respect the wishes of our hosts....

Not a secret spot is right.
Way to many people fishing there in the last few years.
Thats fine it is public.
Just bothers me when I get there at 3 on a week day and there is almost no where to park cause the lot is full as it was this day.
Litter is / has become a huge problem up there.
We will pick it all up when the fish are not bitting, then 2 days later (weekend) is a dump site again.
They the powers that be, have been talking openly about closing access neer this site if the problem continues.
They no longer put out a trash can, well people just plied stuff next to it any way, because it was always full.
So every one just carry it back out with you, cans and beer bottles weigh less on the way out, of course so do you morals after drinking the beer.
(Yes,a total goody two shoes here.)

Rick L., thanks for the day out of the city, really needed it.
And ready for another, soon, hint hint.
Maybe at night, another no so unknown spot, large fish.

Thanx for putting me online with the smallest sauger ever ;))
Where is the hot bite these days. If the rain lets me I will try our spot again tonight. Last time there I landed 30-35 eyes with only 2 legals but kept only a 16.5". It was colllllllllllld.

Conditions: Sleeting
Air Temp: 46° - 50° F
Water Temp: 40° - 45° F
Fished River Inn boat landing 1730-1800 and got skunked with no bite at all (was trying for crappie). Moved under the Dam and fished there 1815-2045. Had the water all to myself. Landed 6 fish total did not lose any. 3 keepers 16", 17"(tagged by Dodgeville!!!!!!!!! WIDNR) and 19 3/4" fatso. Went from 1/8oz to 1/4oz and eventually to 3/8oz orange jighead and used yellow twistertail. There were some guys in a boat in the rapids I guess they were boating fish too. Some fishing party under Mexicali Rose was having too much fun as I saw the camera flash a lot of times but what worried me is they left their fire on!!! Well California has Arnie to worry about their "wildfires" but neglect like this is of no good to anyone!!! Please be responsible being out does not mean letting it all out. p.s. Water is coming up and current is pretty heavy. Good Luck Fishing To All

Conditions: Cloudy

Fished 1830-1915 last night under Mexicali Rose. There was no current so I tried crankbaits on 8# test line. The good thing about the crank I used was I never paid for it got it out of the mouth of a 10" smallie down at Merrimack fishing Lake Wisconsin for crappie! Saved him from agonizing death and got myself a really good action bait...
Got 3 14"-ers and quite a few "taps" but didn't feel any weight so wasn't able to set the hooks. Guys in boats were scouting around but I saw them boating only shorties. I saw the first ice!....on my leaders the e-thermometer on the parking lot showed 32F but I guess down by the water it was about 29F... Good Luck Fishing To All

Clear Skies
Air Temp: 41° - 45° F
Water Temp: 40° - 45° F
Did OK last night. Got down under Mexicali Rose by 1745 and left about 1930. Used 6# test; bobbers 4ft down; #8 long shank hook crappie minnows for bait. Landed 5 walleyes 14"-16 1/2" - 2 keepers 15 1/4" and 16.5; 1 29" Northern and a 10" Crappie. Also hooked 1 14" eye on a rattle crank shaped and coloured to look like rainbow trout. It got quite cold after 1830. There are lots and lots of suckers, highfinners and carp surfacing in the light.

Guys! Just a kind request! Anyone planning on driving up from Milwaukee area to Dells area - please drop a line if you can squeeze my buddy Richfish in your vehicle! He is a fine gentleman - very sweet talker and highly knowledged angler - unfortunately stuck down there without transport so unfortunately the 5hrs there and back and onother 5 in the end of our fishing would kill any decent fishing day! Message me (or him) for that matter if you could bring him up to the Dells (obviously will chip in). Heck - if you want to take him in your boat so he can wet a line!

Thank You! THANK YOU! Thanx a lot!

Jeezz Rich, your not that lucky (imagine you the 666 person?)!

Got to go north today (should'a yesterday, but made some money instead : -). Would really like to go to the Dells with you on a Wednesday, to get in on that seafood buffet we did last go around. So lets plan for next week.

Also, that business you pushed my way was decent. Would you accept a check for $350 bucks for your help?

Want to fish open water, walleyes, or Bass?
Or we will, well maybe have the option of ice for panfish, walleye by then I hope.

Stuffed ones, or fresh ones?
Pictures, thought you wanted to fish.
I got a Hot action walleye, spot for us to hit.
If they are going, no time for camera work.
Open water.
