Location: Manitowoc, WI | With the loss of the Packers' yesterday, the state of Wisconsin dominance over the sporting scenes took a small hit. Here is a small list to show that dominance:
NFL- Green Bay Packers, NFC North division champs 2002 and 2003.
PWT 2003 angler of the year- Bill Ortiz from Dodgeville, WI.
PWT 2002 angler of the year-John Kolinski from Menasha, WI.
PWT 2001 angler of the year-Gary Gray from Oshkosh, WI.
PWT champion 2002-Keith Kavajecz from Kaukauna, WI.
PWT champion 2003-Dan Plautz from Muskego, WI.
RCL 2002 angler of the year-Tim Minnema from Markesan,WI
RCL 2003 angler of the year-Jason Przekurat from Stevens Point, WI.
RCL 2003 championship-Tom Keenan from Hatley, WI.
MWC championship-Tim and Jim Minnema from Markesan, WI.
NCAA Final Four 2003-Marquette.
NCAA 2003-2004 regular season- Marquette and Wisconsin both in the top twenty.
If it weren't for Mike Gofron (IL) and Doc Samson (MN), we would own the PWT and RCL tour championships for the last three years.
I'd like to see some of the big talkers who are shooting off their mouths in regards to the Packer's loss, not necessarily on this website, come up with a list of total dominance like this.
And, from the files of you heard it here first: 2004 NFC North, NFC champions, and Super Bowl XXXIX champions and will be the Green Bay Packers. |

Who the heck makes all that cheese if everybody is fishing, playing football and riding their harleys? I think half of Wisconsin was on the ice on Little Bay Saturday. |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | LOL....very good reply Dan. Yes, LBDN is very buisy every weekend with Wisconsites hitting it hard. The cheese is made on Wednesday and Thursday, which are mandatory work days in Wisconsin...;)

| Say Jerry and Steve, from the fishing point of view, all those guys have achieved alot of success, but........ they did it working for Minnesota companies!
PWT = In-Fisherman = Minnesota based
RCL = Genmar = Minnesota based
FLW = Genmar = Minnesota based
MWC = Minnesota based
Lund Boats = Genmar = Minnesota based
Crestliner = Genmar = Minnesota based
Northland Tackle = Minnesota based
Lindy/Lil Joe = Minnesota based
I an not argueing that those guys aren't the best out there, and I want you to know that we here in Minnesota appreciate them for being such good workers for OUR businesses. I imagine all of them would say they learned alot from OUR best fishing teachers too,... Al and Ron Lindner!
I forgot to mention Alumacraft boats, Gary Roach, Babe Winkleman, Ted Takisaki, Perry Good, The famous Nisswa Guides, Aqua View, Vexilar, Normark (Rapala/Storm), and a few others I won't mention!

As for the Lindners, they got their start fishing with Bill Binkelman and the Fishing Facts staff, which was based out of Milwaukee and Menomonee Falls, WI. I grew up in SE WI and had the chance, as a kid, to see young Ron and Al perform their "magic act" on the overfished waters in that area. Specifically, Lake Geneva and the Fox Chain in Antioch, IL. Both historic and awesome!!! The basis of In-Fisherman started here. |

Also, I thought the Lindners came from Chicago originally. |

The basis for their mag. and shows was formed out of their alliance with Bill Binkelman and a magazine that was called Facts of Fishing. It was later changed to Fishing Facts. They performed their "magic act" along with Bill on various lakes in NE IL and SE WI in order to generate interest in their teachings. All three are disciples of the late Buck Perry, who is considered the father of structure fishing. I had the chance to meet all of them at a grand opening at Gander Mountain in Wilmot, WI years ago. Bought my first graphite rod based on their recommendations. Wish I was a little older at that time so I could do more than blankly stare at the guys whom I idolized at that age. |

| Don't know how many days I spent with Bill Binkleman in his basement talking about fishing, lure making, writing etc. He is still the original fuel to my fire. Yep, Wisconsin sure has a lot going for it but don't go about bragging too much. Seems like just when you get all puffed up about a great new hat, a seagull comes along and drops a big turd on it.

I'd love to read them if there are any out there somewhere. |

| Speaking of Bill Binkleman, does anyone know if the company is still running or in existence? Or, do you know where to direct me to start researching? I thought it was Batavia, IL. I would love to find out what kind of fine-wire hooks and paint they were using for their jigs. Nothing I've seen compares.
Any help would be appreciated. |
