I have a friend who is in second on the co side and the results here show him zeroing. |

| We had some boat numbers changed on us, they we pairing a few boats up with more than one co. We have it straight now for the remainder of the event.

| Several boats cancelled at the last minute. That is to bad...not fair to the co-anglers. I am sure some had to do with the gas prices, but still not fair to the co-anglers.
I give the FLW credit, they did what they could to try to fill those spots. |

Location: Appleton wi | cancellations, every year the league has scrambled weeks before and at the last minute prior to the championship infact they have done a excellent job in the past to fill the fields. There are alot of factors that influence who going to show up for game day. The last minute dropouts due to illness or family crisis or bosses who are trying to run business . Needing boaters like this year must have been somewhat difficult to find at the last minute since they already called down to like 80th to get 25 weeks ago.Sure hope its someone i know who wins the new ranger thats a sweet float. |

Location: Green Bay, WI | After day two my friend is in second place, if he makes it to first that'll be two co's I know who would have won. It'll be great, with the price of gas its cheaper to be the rider than the driver. It's also more relaxing.  |

| so how is it ! the guy that wins the championship has not fished an rcl league tournament since 10-1-03 on the same river,zeroed and placed 195th. not bashing the guy. but wrong is wrong. unless there is some more info some where. i stand by my thread. |

'Fishing wing dams was the key this week as most of the top finishers were doing the same thing. Jerowski targeted several different wing dams and would revisit the productive ones as many as three times throughout each day of the tournament.
"I've fished this stretch of the river all my life, but I found two new areas a week ago that I've never fished," he said. They produced for us during the tournament." Jerowski admitted it was tough fishing, as he went through more than 60 No.1 Gamakatsu Octopus hooks during the tournament. "I would just bounce the willow cats along in the areas I could find current. The baits got hung up a lot, but if they didn't, you could usually catch a good walleye."'
Answers that question, I think.

Location: Rockford MN | Sounds like some bitter guys about a local winning, the guy earned the spot in the Championship. Same thing going on over at the other site, unreal! This guy knew the water and made the best of it being on his home waters. Congrates he still had to beat the field! |

Location: Green Bay, WI | I don't know what the crying is about the top three boaters all finished within the top 35 of the MN division. I'm sure that is why they fished the series this year because of where the championship was. It was no different last year when the championship was out of Escanaba, and the Wisconsin guys had a good championship. If the championship is on your home waters and you qualify during the season, you earned the home water advantage.

| Hmmm... Last time I checked, Escanaba was in Michigan. Of course, there was talk of the UP seceding from Michigan many years ago and attaching to Wisconsin. Did that finally go through? |

Location: Green Bay, WI | OK, I do understand that Escanaba is in MI, but the bite is certainly better understood by the UP and WI anglers over the lower MI anglers, MN anglers and the SD anglers.
Additionally, going into Day 3 last year, the top two anglers were catching their fish in WI waters and the angler in second caught his two fish on day 3 in WI to win it.
Having the championship on familiar waters is an advantage in a regional championship, that's all I meant. And if you fish the whole series and qaulify, the local guy has an advantage at the championship.
The other side of the issue is the local guy probably feels the pressure to do well. |

I believe the title of the thread is FLW Walleye League Finals, obviously the MWC's field is generally deeper and more experienced. You could have pointed out that the PWT event out of Escanaba last year was won by a pro from Colorado, but the title of the thread is FLW WALLEYE LEAGUE FINALS!!!

Seems pretty one sided to me, considering some of the best stucture trollers in the country seem to come from west Of the Miss.. ! If it's the FLW league or not that's a bold statement! Thats like me saying that if you don't live in MN you have no shot at winning an event here because you can't structure fish like we can.
ANYONE can win anywhere, even on the Great Lakes! |

My point, which was not clear enough is, local knowledge has played a part in each of the three finals and if the the local has qualified through the tournament series, no one should be complaining. Yes anyone could win, but the local could have an edge.
Any problems with that statement Gordy? Because I'm done now. |

The bite is CERTAINLY BETTER UNDERSTOOD. I don't know what I could have been thinking, you are right we guys here in MN certianly don't understand how to catch walleyes in open water with spinners behind a planner board. LMAO!!!!! location is the only thing I hope he was talking about??????
