A sunny, beautiful day it indeed is today! Spending the morning doing some research and checking out areas not yet fished I managed to pull 7 undersize walleye and one keeper 18 inch fish for tonights supper again.
Water surface temps. are running about 54' to 56' in most of the upper bay. I concentrated on shallow waters this morning and working lightweight 1/8 and 1/16 ounce jigs tipped with crawler halves, fathead minnows and using the "Gulp" Minnows and Crawlers from Berkley. Most fish came on the fathead minnows this morning.
Got a good chance in using the "new" Patriot Rod's from Dave Fickle of Gobles, Michigan this morning. Dave has been in the rod building industry for some 14 years cranking out lots of quality fishing rods.
These 2 jigging rods one a medium 7 foot and the other a medium-lite rod rigged with 8 pound XL line preformed great.
Good action, feel and hook setting ability.
Any of you interested in one great fishing rod check out our on-line catalog as we'll also have them on-board this year for our Charters.
Fishing reports are coming in from the water today with better results at least with numbers of fish, not all legal size but still fun catching!
Winds have picked up from the south this afternoon putting a nice chop on the water, good luck fisherman and we'll talk fishing tomorrow!

Thanks Marty for the report, even though I don't fish there much. But it is still nice to hear of eyes being caught. It's only going to get better. Good luck out there this year.
