Location: mind: Delta County, Butt:Lansing | I want to get back into walleye fishing after 10 years absence....Excluding boat, motor, trailer, what are your opinions for "must have" tackle? When I moved I lost all of my old stuff and need to get new. And I would spend up to $300.00 to get started (is that enough?). If fishing location is an important factor, I would be fishing Little and Big Bay de Noc. Thank you forum, in advance, for your suggestions. |

Location: Neenah, WI | To start with I would get a couple of linecounter reels and trolling rods. A good assortment of Reefrunners, Thundersticks and Hot'N'Tots. Also a couple of Off Shore planer boards. This certainly isn't a complete list. I'm sure the other members will add to it. 300 bucks won't go too far. If you add to your budget you can get more stuff like crawler harnesses (make them yourself), bottom bouncers or snap weights. I would also suggest a 7th edition copy of the Precision Trolling book, about 25 bucks.

Location: Milw, WI | Because you haven't fished the Bay, or fished in some time.......
I would see if you can get some one to take you out there and try diff. methods that work on the bay.
Guides, kind people off this site.
Then decide on what kind of tackle for the style of fishing you like the best would be needed.
Do not need line counters on trolling rods if you like jigging for them. |
